Boys lose a heartbreaker against Dunkerton and come back to dominate Clayton Ridge on Friday

Dunkerton

The Pirates traveled to Dunkerton early last week for a contest that went down to the wire. The teams played even basketball in the first quarter and the Pirates trailed 29-33 at the half. They would out score the home team 14-9 in the third but would eventually lose the battle, 52-56.

Clayton Ridge

Last Friday night the Pirates hosted Clayton Ridge in a game they would dominate from the beginning. The boys hit a few shots early and played well on the defensive end as well. The Pirates out scored the Eagles 12-3 in the first quarter and had a 21-9 lead at the break. At game’s end, the score was 53-31 in favor of the home team Pirates.

The Pirates are slated to play Kee High and South Winn this week. The coach said, “Both teams will present really tough challenges and we need to be ready to play.”
