Board of Education accepts audit proposal, discusses the future of girls’ athletics at January meeting

The Postville Board of Education, meeting at the RISE academy, in downtown Postville, Monday, January 8, addressed several agenda items.

The alternative high school, The Rise Academy, is going well explained high school principal Brendan Knudtson, as four students have graduated and twelve are on track to graduate this year.

Future of Girls Athletics

The board held a discussion regarding the future of girls’ athletic at Postville High School. It was the consensus of the board that a decision needs to be made prior to conference scheduling for next year.

A  meeting for all parents of girls in grades 6-12 will be held next Monday, January 22 at 6 p.m. in the Fine Arts and Civic Center. At the meeting the future of girls’ basketball and softball will be discussed. Anyone having questions should contact the school at (563) 864-7561.
