Allamakee County Fair being held July 17-21

The Allamakee County Fair is being held at the Fairgrounds in Waukon this week.  Festivities begin today, July 17 and run through Sunday, July 21.

Grandstand events are being held each evening as the truck and tractor pull is tonight, followed by the off-road UTV/ATV competition on Thursday.

The main attraction on Friday is music by Parmalee and Caylee Hammack. The Rogue Rodeo is Saturday, July 20.

The final grandstand event will be held Sunday when the Tough Truck Rally will be held.

Single night grandstand passes are $15 each for Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Single night grandstand passes for Friday are $35.

Livestock Shows

Thursday, July 18: 8 a.m., Swine judging; 1 p.m. Sheep judging; Meat Goat judging; 3 p.m. Clover Kid Pet Show.

Friday, July 19: 9 a.m. Beef Judging; 3 p.m. Rabbit Judging

Saturday, July 20: 8:30 a.m. Dairy Goat judging; Dairy Cattle judging; 2:30 p.m. Pee Wee Dairy Show, Dairy Novice Show to follow; 4 p.m. Dog Show

Sunday, July 21: 9 a.m. Horse Show.

Auctions will be held on Saturday and Sunday with the dairy auction on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. and the 4-H/FFA livestock auction on Sunday beginning at 5 p.m.

Kid’s Day

Friday is Kid’s Day at the fair. A magician will have three/four shows per day. At 1 p.m. there will be a cookie decorating event for children sponsored by Kitchen Krafts. From 1-5 p.m. Living Characters Clowns and Balloons Art will be in the Green Commercial Building. The Kid’s Pedal Tractor Pull will be held at 6 p.m. It is sponsored by the Waukon FFA and will be held in front of the Pavilion.
