Allamakee County Dairy Days/Hometown Celebration & Big Four Fair June 15-17, 2018

Friday, June 15

ALLAMAKEE COUNTY DAIRY DAYS & POSTVILLE HOMETOWN CELEBRATION

7:00 p.m. Parade, Main Street–Postville is also hosting the Allamakee 

County Dairy Parade which is combined with the Hometown 

Celebration Parade (Line up starting at Lull’s Park at 6:30 p.m.) 

• Businesses / parade entrants are encouraged to decorate and 

dress up for the 2018 theme “Agriculture MOOving America.” 

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place float/parade 

entries after Little Mr. and Miss contest at the Fairgrounds. 

• Following the parade, Little Mr. and Miss Postville Contest 

will be held at the Fairgrounds. 

• Carnival after the parade until 9:30 p.m. at the Fairgrounds. 

Hosted by the Postville High School Thespian Troupe 417. (Proceeds will go toward funding troupe activities and honors for the 2018-19 school year.)

8 p.m.-12 a.m. Music provided by Ryan Martindale - RZ SoundTracks 

DJ at the Fairgrounds. Ends at Midnight.

 

Friday, June 15

BIG FOUR FAIR SCHEDULE

8:30 a.m. Entries Due

9-11:30 a.m. Junior Division and Open Class 

Projects Judging begins 

(Best of Show will be chosen after all judging is done.)

10 a.m.-9 p.m. Food stand is open

12 p.m. Deadline for Open Class Projects - 

Culinary, Fancy Work, Photo, 

Farm, Garden Judging 

(if article is soiled - judge may refuse ribbon placing.)

1 p.m. Dress Review/Clothing Selection 

at Dreamland Pavilion 

(Style Show and presentations immediately 

following the judging)

3 p.m. Dog Show

6 p.m. Entries for Lego Creations and 

Baking Contest

7:30 p.m. Weigh-in 

(Beef weigh-in will be followed immediately 

by sheep weigh-in)

8 p.m. Lego Creation judged

8 p.m.-12 a.m. Live Music provided by Ryan Martindale RZ SoundTracks DJ

8:30 p.m. Health papers are required for 

all animals. All livestock must 

be on grounds. Livestock will 

be unloaded/loaded from the 

north side (Co-op Drive).

Saturday, June 16

8 a.m.-9 p.m. Food stand is open

8 - 9 a.m. Hog Show Entries Due (weigh-in)

10 a.m. Dairy Show 

(The show will take a break after the 

Jr. Champion is chosen for the Kiddy Calf Show. 

The Dairy Show will then resume.)

3:30 p.m. Rabbit and Poultry Show

5:30 p.m. Meat Goat Show

6:30 p.m. Hog Show

 

Sunday, June 17

7 a.m. Kitchen will be open 

for a Waffle Breakfast

9 a.m. Sheep Show

11:30 a.m. Beef Show

3 p.m. Projects released
